Chorus - English Literature Literary Term Simple Defination


Chorus comes from Greek word Koros. 

It is subtitle form of literary expression which contains musical effects in positive manner.

It must be melodious and lucrative in its approch . It generally contains rhythmic vibrations. 

It must carry the cryptic meaning and approach of the poet. It should also follow the rules of poetic diction. 

It may be either lambic or trochaic in style. Its approach must be universal and creative.

Chorus is a group of actors who, described and commented on the main action of the play , through sond and drama. 

Modern english do not have Chorus but T.S Eliot used Chorus in his Famous play. Chorus was first used in 16th Century.
